The Ontario government is investing over $1.255 million to increase prevention and containment efforts in long-term care homes during the second wave of COVID-19.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson made the announcement, and says the new funding will further help reduce the risk of the virus from entering long-term care homes.
The funds will be used to cover expenses for things like 24/7 health checkpoints for everyone entering buildings, additional prevention and containment activities like hiring new staff, enhanced cleaning, and implementing infection control measures based on clinical evidence.
