Lucan Biddulph council met to discuss the 2021 budget at Tuesday’s council meeting.
For the ice rental revenue, the budget assumed no ice for January and February, with ice to be installed in August. Part time operator wages are included for August to December only in this budget.
Treasurer Kathryn Langendyk made a presentation detailing a small increase for the tax bills of homeowners.
The municipal portion is only one of three components, the other two being the county levy and the education levy. Langendyk added that the county is currently working on their budget and council does not know the tax rates for 2021 at this time.
The education rate will not change from 2020 for residential properties, meanwhile the commercial and industrial properties rate has been reduced significantly for 2021.
