The mother of a Stanley Cup champion made a huge assist.
Bonnie O’Reilly donated one of her kidneys to Graham Nesbitt, a retired arena manager in Seaforth who allowed O’Reilly’s sons Ryan and Cal to use the indoor rink to practice when the facility was closed to the public.
The surgery took place at a hospital in London last Wednesday (3rd) and both are said to be doing well.
Graham’s wife Pam posted on her Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/697236801/videos/10159362450591802/) showing her gratitude for Bonnie’s kindness.
Ryan is the captain of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues while Cal is playing for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers AHL affiliate).
Both grew up in Seaforth and nearby Varna.
