Huron Perth Public Health is following the direction of the Province and extending the time intervals for second doses of COVID-19 vaccine up to 16 weeks.
What this means is most currently booked second dose appointments will be cancelled to allow the opportunity for more people to get their first dose.
Clinics in Huron Perth are currently all booked up but the local health unit is working to add more as fast as possible.
Not all second doses are being extended. The following groups will continue to receive their second dose of vaccine between 21 to 42 days:
· residents of long-term care homes, retirement homes, Elder Care Lodges and Assisted Living facilities who are at the greatest risk of both exposure to COVID-19 and serious illness and death;
