The Ontario government unveiled their 2021 budget last week.
The new budget has the province on track for a deficit of over $33 billion dollars.
myFM spoke with Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson who gave us some highlights of the budget.
The in depth budget also is providing $400 per child for families and $500 for children with special needs, $1 billion to support municipalities, and there will be money for broadband, tourism, money for long term care settings.
The budget also provides cuts for various sectors including over $789 million in education, $ 70 million to the Ministry of Labour, $20 million to fight forest fires, and over $400 million to the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services.
