Huron County OPP are still looking for a location for their extended service office for the Wingham area.
There was an office space on Josephine Street that was being considered.
It was donated by the building’s landlord.
But North Huron Reeve Bernie Bailey says that space did not meet the requirements of the Ontario Provincial Police.
Bailey says the Township are no longer involved in the search for a new OPP office but are in constant communication with the detachment on their progress.
He says it is important to have an office in the Wingham, Morris-Turnberry, or Howick area in order to provide police service in the northern portion of the county.
