The County of Huron is encouraging residents to celebrate Earth Day this Thursday (apr22) by considering what impact their everyday actions have on the climate.
Huron Climate Change and Energy Specialist Lily Morrow says County staff are working to address Climate Change in the workplace.
The Corporate Climate Change Adaptation Plan has identified 14 goals that will be addressed over the next 5 years to help lessen the effects of future climate changes and help recover from the past.
The group has developed many initiatives to help staff prioritize climate change including the Single Use Item Reduction Strategy, and installing water fountains throughout the County’s facilities to reduce dependency on single use water bottles.
