Seaforth native and Canadian golfing legend Ken Doig Senior died on Monday (19th) at the age of 92.
He was a hockey player growing up and didn’t take up golf until he went to Scotland where he was playing in a professional hockey league.
Doig’s daughter Carolanne says it was a trip to see Arnold Palmer play that inspired her dad and Uncle Rob to build the Seaforth Golf Course.
Doig won the Ontario Senior Mens Championship and the Ontario Senior Champion of Champions in 1984.
In 2012, he was named to the Golf Association of Ontario’s Wall of Recognition.
