Police are warning motorists about someone impersonating an officer.
Huron County OPP are investigating a traffic stop that was conducted Thursday night (22nd) around 6:15 on Highway 4 in Hensall by someone in a dark sedan with emergency lights on the roof.
The driver of the vehicle pulled over told OPP the person who pulled him over demanded to know his destination then drove off.
Investigators are now looking for a male in his 40’s, about 5′ 5″, with a thin build, short dark hair and a moustache.
He was wearing a jacket with the word POLICE across the front.
Police ask if you have any information regarding this person contact OPP or Crime Stoppers.
The OPP wants drivers to know they do NOT conduct traffic stops to find out if someone is complying with the Provinces Stay at Home Order.
If you are approached by someone you are unsure if an officer of the law, you can request to see their badge and warrant card.
