The Town of Goderich will open their waterfront to the public once the Stay-at-Home order is lifted tomorrow (2nd).
The beach area had been closed since the emergency order was implemented on April 1st.
That the matter was discuss by Council at their May 25th meeting.
Mayor John Grace says with more people getting vaccinated, they felt the time was right to reopen the beach with public health measures in place.
Grace says the Town will also be implementing paid parking at the beach but during the first two weeks of June, there will be a campaign focused on education and awareness.
Rates are $4 per hour, $20 per day, and $60 for the year. Paid parking will be enforced between 9 am and 5 pm seven days a week, and will be in effect between June 2nd and Labour Day. More information on paid parking at the waterfront can be found here.
