Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is accelerating the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, keeping with the provincial direction.
HPPH will begin to offer second dose appointments as early as four weeks later, all based on vaccine supply. The second does will also go out by age group, starting with 80+
As of Monday, anyone 80 and up is eligible to book their second dose of the vaccine at the shorten interval. During the week of June 14th, anyone 70 plus will be eligible.
Certain groups have already been receiving second doses of COVID-19 vaccines at a shortened interval, including high-risk health care workers, individuals with certain health conditions, and First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals.
