The Town of Goderich is reminding everyone that short-term rentals are not permitted.
By-laws in the town do allow for Bed and Breakfast style rentals but state that owners must live in the same building and rent rooms not the entire building.
Penalties are fines of $25,000 for a first conviction and $10,000 a day for any subsequent convictions.
Anyone operating a short-term rental is asked to bring their property up to compliance.
