There is a program being offered to youth who wants to learn more about shoreline eco-systems.
The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is launching their Coastal Conservation Youth Corps program this summer in Goderich and Saugeen Shores.
Education Technician Kerry Kennedy says this free program (which is primarily funded by a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation) is for youth ages 14 to 18 who are interested in environmental stewardship and other areas of conservation.
Kennedy says when they introduced the program last year they had students from as far as the Waterloo region come up to Goderich to take part in the program.
There are four dates each running all week long. The first program goes July 5th to the 9th in Goderich. Three more takes place in Saugeen Shores: July 12-16, July 19-23, and August 9-13. Plus there is one in Goderich that is spread out over two weekends in September (11th/12th, and 25th/26th).
