Women of Influence Day presented by myFM.
We are profiling Mayor of Lucan Biddulph and Middlesex County Warden Cathy Burghardt-Jesson.
Going into municipal politics was the next step for her after being president of Lucan minor hockey. She says that she joked that she should go into municipal politics because it would be easier than being president of a minor hockey league.
After being involved in the community for many years in many different ways, Burghardt-Jesson has many things to be proud of from her career. One she said was getting the traffic lights put in in town, and another is everything happening at the hockey arena.
Now, she thinks young women are so fortunate as they can pursue anything they want. And she does say being a working women is a balancing act but it is something that they should look forward to.
Her advice for young women is to get involved whenever you can, and know that there will be roadblocks, but don’t be afraid of them.
