Women of Influence Day presented by myFM.
We are profiling Sally Brodie, a Branch Assistant with Huron County Library on the Central Team as well as a Volunteer in the community.
In her time at the Library, Sally has worked with the kids who come in quite often, and has been hosting the Storytime’s for kids for 15 years. She says that in her professional career, seeing the kids continue to come to library even in adulthood is something she is proud of.
Sally became a library because she loved books and reading her entire life. She grew up going to the library and picking up more books than she could read. The other reason she loves being a librarian is because she loves working with children, and enjoys helping them find out different things about the library like books and crafts.
Sally also volunteers with Huron Perth Hospice, which she got involved in after her own loss.
She says that she enjoys volunteering with the hospice as it allows her to help other come to terms with loss.
As for why she thinks its important to volunteer, she says to her its a great way to give back to your community.
Sally said that her message to young girls is to find your passion and then figure out a way to get paid for it, so that going to work everyday is fun.
