We are profiling Winona Bailey. Winona volunteers a lot in the Zurich community, spending time at three nursing homes, running the Zurich news website, she is a board chair at Zurich beanfest and so much more.
She says that she got involved in volunteering because she saw a need for it.
Winona said that one of the things she loves doing is pet therapy volunteering. She says she loves seeing how much joy it brings people and the difference it makes.
She says that she thinks it’s important for women to volunteer in rural communities as things have really changed over the years, its important to have a voice and to have another perspective.
As advice to anyone looking to get more involved in their community, Winona says to just go out and do it, and don’t be afraid.
