The unemployment rate in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula economic region continues to dip.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board released its job figures for the month of July.
They say the unemployment rate in July was at 3.6 percent, a drop of 0.2 percent from June.
They go on to say it is the lowest unemployment rate among economic regions in Ontario.
The Provincial rate was at 8.9 percent, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous month.
The board says the labour force increased by 3,300 people with the participation rate also climbing from 62.6 percent to 63.8 percent.
Overall net employment in the region increased by 3,500 thanks to full-time gains (3,200) and part-time gains (300).
They say this shows a continued recovery of the local labour market, possibly due to the Stage 2 reopening and its relaxing of the rules.
The number of Goods-producing sector employees increased by 1,400 with agriculture (1,600) and manufacturing (900) being the main drivers offset by a loss in construction jobs (-800).
Employment in the Services-producing sector also increased by 2,100 with wholesale and retail trade (2,300) making most of the gains.
The Educational services sector saw the biggest loss (-1,600).
