Huron County OPP have a simple message to all drivers out there – slow down.
There has been a 75 per cent increase in the number of drivers charged for stunt driving/racing compared to last year.
So far 35 drivers have been charged which is up from the total of 20 last year.
Police are reminding everyone of new measures under the Highway Traffic Act, including an increase of the number of dates for vehicle impounds to 14 instead of 7.
The threshold for racing is also lower as anyone going over 40 km/hr on roads with posted speed limits of 80 km/h or less will be charged with stunt driving.
