Nathaniel Veltman made a brief appearance by video in court on Wednesday from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre. Veltman’s case has been put over until September 22nd.
The 20-year-old is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder for the June 6th crash which police deemed a terror attack against Muslims. A family of five was out for walk when they were hit by a truck, killing four members and leaving a nine-year-old boy in the hospital under serious condition. The boy has since been released from the hospital.
There is a publication ban in effect for the case.
