For the past nine years Dr. Sudit Ranade has been the Medical Officer of Health of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
The pandemic has shown him just how closely politics and public health and the medical field are related, which is why he has now decided to throw is hat in the ring during this election as the candidate for the Liberal Party.
As for what his platform is, he says three of his key issues on his platform are child care, infrastructure and mental health.
For child care he says that pandemic has really shown the need for affordable child care because of parents working from home while kids were also home. For the other two he explains the need for them.
Ranade says that the pandemic has really taught him how interconnected we are, and all the sectors we operate under are interconnected.
He says that the past year has shown us where the vulnerabilities are in our system and the place to fix them is in policy.
