Lianne Rood has been re-elected as the representative for the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex riding in Ottawa.
Rood held an indoor-outdoor, invite only gathering on election night for friends and family and people who helped with her campaign, and she took the stage to thank everyone there, as well as everyone in the riding for a great campaign. When speaking to the press after her speech, Rood said that overall, she’s honored to be re-elected.
Rood was asked about her lack of attendance at candidates debates during the campaign where she said that for the first one, hosted by the Chamber, she fell ill with a migraine and followed the public health guidelines to stay home. For the rest of the campaign she says her and her team decided to take a different approach, and knocked on 10,000 doors and made 6,000 phone calls to speak to the people of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
Rood, in her address to the people in attendance at her gathering, also took a moment to congratulate the other candidates for their campaigns.
