Everyone is being asked to be kind as the Provincial vaccination requirements come into effect for public settings.
Starting today, Ontarians need to be fully vaccinated and provide proof along with photo ID to certain indoor settings including restaurants, nightclubs, bars, meeting and event spaces, sporting events, recreation centres and gyms, and more.
There are some exemptions including children under the age of 12 and anyone with a documented medical exemption, along with people who are only accessing the indoor spaces for certain reasons like picking up a takeout order.
The province hopes to implement a QR code system by October 22nd.
The proof of vaccination must be show in public indoor settings including:
- Restaurants and bars (excluding outdoor patios, as well as delivery and takeout);
- Nightclubs (including outdoor areas of the establishment);
- Meeting and event spaces, such as banquet halls and conference/convention centres;
- Facilities used for sports and fitness activities and personal fitness training, such as gyms, fitness and recreational facilities with the exception of youth recreational sport;
- Sporting events;
- Casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments;
- Concerts, music festivals, theatres and cinemas;
- Strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs;
- Racing venues (e.g., horse racing).
