MJ’s Roadhouse in Lucan is one of the thousands of restaurants in the province who now have to ask guests for proof of vaccination as a part of the province new guidelines.
These guidelines have been in place for almost two weeks now, and Matthew Long, Head Chef and Owner of MJ’s says, it hasn’t been easy.
At the start, Long says he didn’t really enforce the rule because he didn’t want to turn away guests, after the stressful year and and a half of opening and closing their doors.
But after a visit from the authorities with the threat of a fine, he now says he is enforcing it so he can keep his doors open.
Long says its been frustrating and exhausting all the new policies and changes that continue to happen, and he is worried for his staff with this new one.
He just hopes customers understand that at this point, it is out of his hands, and he is just doing what he has to to keep MJ’s open.
