Klondyke Park in Grand Bend has a new Commemorative Woods space, done in partnership with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation, the Municipality of Lambton Shores and the Lakeshore Eco-Network.
Almost 200 trees were planted in the new woods by the ABCA, of all different kinds. The Rotary Club of Grand Bend also got involved and raised money as well, raising $36,000 for the project.
The walk will be there as a way to honour loved ones, and donors can sponsor individual trees for them. The entry of the walk has a plaque for the founding donors, Hank Winters who was one of the founders of the Lakeshore Eco-Network, who was the inspiration for this project.
