The provincial government announced Tuesday that starting January 1st, 2022 minimum wage will be increasing from the current $14.35 to $15 an hour.
Premier Doug Ford says that this change is help put money in the pockets of Ontarians.
Ford added that over 760,000 workers across Ontario will be receiving a raise in the new year with this new wage.
Included in this raise will be liquor sale employees like servers and bartenders, whose current wage is $12.55 an hour.
Students under 18-years-old, hunting and fishing guides and home workers will also be seeing an increase to their wage as well.
