Community Futures Huron has applied for funding through the My Main Street Accelerator program, which is a program that supports downtown businesses, by giving them access to on the ground staffing and grant opportunities.
Paul Nichol, General Manager for Community Futures Huron said that the program will help them in many ways.
Currently they are in the process of getting consent from Municipal Councils in the community they support.
If they receive the funding, businesses will have access to hopefully around 350-375 business owners who will work with ‘feet on the ground’ people to help with things like market development, strategy and more.
They wont find out until April if they’re application is successful but they are very hopeful they can bring this to the area.
