For many, Christmas time means travelling and possibly spending a few nights at a family members home.
Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuk says if you are going away for the holidays, make sure you have a plan in place to make your home look lived in because if you house looks empty, it may look appealing to thieves.
Have a neighbour or friend grab your mail, shovel your driveway, and even flick on your lights occasionally if possible in order to give the home a lived in look.
