The town of St. Marys is hoping a former downtown theatre could once again be a hub for arts and culture.
Earlier this month the town purchased 14 Church Street North, the site of the former Mercury Theatre.
The Town purchased the building which has been vacant since 2006 with the hopes of preserving its heritage value and for a site for cultural activities, library and leisure programing and administrative space.
The next steps include hiring a planning consultant and establishing a Steering Committee to determine best use of the property.
The hope is to open to the public in 2025 or 2026.
