Statistics Canada just came out with a report that says 63% of Indigenous women have faced sexual or physical violence or assault.
This is a very large number of women.
Chief Jason Henry Chippewa of the Kettle and Stoney Point First Nation says it’s good that statists are out, it shows that there is a problem.
Jason told myFM that admitting there is a problem is a step, but in order to help Indigenous people, we need to educate ourselves.
Not just on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, but also residential schools and beyond.
