During the Ontario Provincial Police’s ‘Canada Road Safety Week’ from May 17th to the 23rd, 9392 traffic charges were laid.
OPP’s goal was to crack down on aggressive, careless and other poor drivers during the most robust traffic safety campaign of the year.
Officers responded to 935 collisions during the campaign, 3 of witch were fatal and the rest preventable.
There was 8020 speeding charges and 138 stunt/racing charges.
216 impaired, 177 distracted driving, 151 careless driving and 632 no seatbelt charges, which apply to both the driver and any passengers.
