If you are interested in running for council or for a school board position there is still time to submit your nomination form.
Next Friday, August 19th at 2 PM is the deadline to submit your paperwork.
The next municipal election will be held on October 24.

Below are a list of candidates confirmed so far.
SOUTH HURON
MAYOR: Incumbent George Finch is seeking re-election. His opponent is the person he beat out in the last election…former Mayor Maureen Cole.
DEPUTY MAYOR: Incumbent Jim Dietrich is looking to be re-elected, while community member Karen Brown looks to take over as the Deputy.
WARD 1: It’s an 8-candidate race in Ward 1. Incumbents Marissa Vaughan and Dianne Faubert look to get re-elected. John Pond, Wayne Desjardine,
Sheila Preszcator, Wendy McLeod-Haggitt, Milt Dietrich, and Philip Van Raay are the other nominees.
WARD 2 and 3: Both Ward 2 and Ward 3 only have the incumbents currently running. Ward 2 is Aaron Neeb, and Barb Willard, while Ward 3 is Ted Oke.
BLUEWATER
MAYOR: Current Mayor Paul Klopp is the lone candidate at this time.
DEPUTY MAYOR: Current Hay East and Hay West councilors are squaring off for the Deputy seat. John Becker in Hay East is up against Alwyn Vanden Berg from Hay West.
BAYFIELD, HENSALL, STANLEY EAST, STANLEY WEST: All current incumbents- Bill Whetstone, Scott Harris, Peter Walden, and George Irvin are seeking re-election..currently unopposed.
ZURICH: Current councilor Shawn LaPorte is being challenged by Winona Bailey
HAY EAST, AND HAY WEST: With current councilors seeking another seat these positions are wide open and have no candidates.
LAMBTON SHORES
MAYOR: Current Deputy Mayor Doug Cook is looking to be re-elected as the Mayor. Marilyn Smith is the lone challenger.
DEPUTY MAYOR: Current Ward 2 councilor Dan Sageman is seeking re-election also in a new role.
WARD 1: The lone candidate is Glen Baillie.
WARD 2: Currently no one is running in Ward 2.
WARD 3: Mark Simpson is challenging incumbent Lorie Scott for Ward 3.
WARD 4: Incumbent Ronn E Dodge is running unopposed.
WARD5: Incumbent Scott Ferguson is running unopposed.
WARD 6: Incumbent Dave Marsh is also running unopposed.
WARD 7: Incumbent Jeff Wilcox is taking on newcomer Jeffrey Girling
NORTH MIDDLESEX
MAYOR: Incumbent Brian Ropp is currently running unopposed.
DEPUTY MAYOR: Newcomer Paul Hodgins is the lone candidate so far.
WARD 1: Incumbent Doreen McLinchey is taking on challenger Sara Nirta.
WARD 2, WARD 3, and WARD 4: No candidates as of yet.
WARD 5: Current Deputy Mayor Adrian Cornelissen is on the ballot in Ward 5.
LUCAN BIDDULPH
Not much to report in Lucan Biddulph as all incumbents are currently running unopposed.
PERTH SOUTH:
MAYOR: Current Deputy Mayor Jim Aitcheson is the lone candidate.
COUNCILOR: Incumbents Sam Corriveau, Sue Orr, and Jaime Martin are seeking re-election. New comer Mark Bell is also on the ballot.
PERTH EAST
Not much to report as all incumbents with the exception of North Easthope Ward Daryl Herlick are seeking re-election. No one is on the ballot in the North Easthope Ward.
WEST PERTH
MAYOR: Incumbent Mayor Walter McKenzie looks to get re-elected, while current Deputy Mayor Doug Eidt looks to take over the top seat.
DEPUTY MAYOR: Incumbent Councilor William Trentowsky is looking to become the Deputy Mayor
COUNCILOR: Incumbents Nicholas Vink, Ryan Duck and Cheri Bell are seeking re-election. Newcomers: Andrew A Fournier, Diane Chessell, and Steven Herold are also on the ballot.
HURON EAST
Lots of incumbents are seeking re-election unopposed.
Currently, no one is running in Grey Ward, while Seaforth, Tuckersmith, and McKillop only have 1 candidate running and 2 seats up for grabs.
MAYOR: Incumbent Bernie MacLellan is looking to be re-elected, and he will be challenged by Nancy Craig.
CENTRAL HURON
MAYOR: Incumbent Jim Ginn is looking to be re-elected, while current Deputy Mayor David Jewitt is looking to take over the top seat.
DEPUTY MAYOR: Current East Ward councilor Marg Anderson looks to become the Deputy Mayor, as does newcomer Jared Petteplace.
EAST WARD: Incumbent Danny Colquhoun is up for re-election, while newcomers Jennifer Cox, Jeffery Scholl, and Adam Robinson are also looking to be elected.
WEST WARD: Incumbents Alison Lobb and Michael Russo are up for re-election.
GODERICH
