A new bivalent COVID-19 booster is now available.
The new vaccine targets both the original COVID-19 virus as well as Omicron while also providing a good immune response against sub variants.
The vaccine will be available for the most vulnerable populations first including: anyone 70 and older, residents of long-term care or retirement homes, First Nations, Inuit and Metis people, anyone who is moderately to severely immunocompromised 12 and older, anyone pregnant that is 18 or older, and healthcare workers who are 18 and older.
Locally Huron Perth Public Health is pausing appointments for individuals 18 and older who are not part of the priority groups., but people can still book an appointment now for clinics taking place on or after September 26.

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) uses the provincial booking system. Individuals may book now for an appointment time when they are eligible.

· First Nations, Inuit, Metis (FNIM) individuals 18+, and their household members 18+: Call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 or book online at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/
The remaining population (individuals ages 18-69) can book into any available clinic with appointment dates beginning September 26.
Individuals ages six months to 17 years can continue to book monovalent vaccines for first, second, or booster doses (based on eligibility) online at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/, by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900, or by calling HPPH’s vaccine booking line at 1-833-753-2098.
