Over 1000 students and community members packed the streets of Exeter for the second annual walk of solidarity in support of Truth and Reconciliation Day.
myFM spoke with Monique Pregent, a local Indigenous educator who told us the support today was incredible and showed support for the Indigenous and non-Indigenous community.
Following the walk Monique made a presentation, and followed it up with the traditional practice for smudging, which is used to purify thoughts.
Monique encourages everyone to shop at local Indigenous businesses, and encourages the Town to promote local First Nations communities with signage.
