A four-week judge and jury trial has now been set, but its still just over a year away.
The case of 15-month-old Strathroy child Nathaniel McLellan who collapsed in 2015 at the home daycare of Strathroy’s Meggin Van Hoof who was arrested and charged 6 years later in 2021 with one count of manslaughter in the death.
Tuesday during a court hearing, both the crown and defence agreed to move ahead to trial on November 14th, 2023 which is pending the outcome of a defence application to have the charge against Van Hoof stayed.
Also on Tuesday, the judge set aside the full day of June 12th, 2023, to hear the defence’s application to stay.
