Premier Doug Ford just announced that the government is willing to rescind the legislation BUT only if CUPE calls off the strike.
The Premier says the Ontario government wants to keep kids in the classrooms, they will do this by offering remote learning and keeping schools open.
Premier Ford says the government wants to negotiate in good faith and bring a deal forward that is fair for everyone.
Ford adds her urges CUPE to get back to the table and keep kids in the classrooms.
When asked by the media, Premier Ford deflects questions about using the notwithstanding clause again and turns it back around on CUPE and says they need to get back to the table BUT only if CUPE stops the strike.
Ford added the Unions don’t have a better partner than the Ontario government.
The Premier cited how the government has worked hand and hand with unions and poured money into the sectors.
