Flu season has hit Huron and Perth County earlier than usual.
Huron Perth Public Health has gotten confirmation of several cases of the flu in children under the age of 5 recently.
This is noteworthy since the health unit doesn’t typically see lab-confirmed flu cases in children this young.
Symptoms of the flu include fever, chills, cough, stuffy nose, and muscle aches.
Children 5 and under are at the highest risk due to developing immune symptoms.
Flu shots are available through family doctors, pharmacies, and Huron Perth Health clinics.
