The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board had a very successful year for EQAO testing.
Students in the HPCDSB achieved results in the top 20% in the Province in Math and Literacy.
82% of Primary students got level 3 or 4 in reading and the provincial average is 73%.
71% got level 3 or 4 in writing, the provincial average is 65% and 69% got level 3 or 4 in mathematics with the provincial average at 59%.
88% of Junior students got level 3 or 4 in reading, the provincial average is 85%.
90% got level 3 or 4 in writing, the provincial average is 84%.
45% got level 3 or 4 in Mathematics with the provincial average at 47%.
For Grade 9 mathematics, 44% placed level 3 or 4 with the provincial average at 52%.
This was the first year students did the new grade 9 mathematics curriculum and used the new e-assessment system.
On the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), 82% of students were successful with the provincial average at 82%.
95.5% of eligible students wrote the test.
The provincial average of students eligible to take the test is 90.4%.
