It’s a multi-billion dollar a year business, but this is one you don’t want to be a part of…fraud.
Locally people continue to get calls, emails, and texts that lead scammers to accessing money.
Recently a North Perth person got a message about suspicious activity on their credit card, followed by a phone call by someone claiming to be from the bank.
The victim was told to purchase gift cards, with the promise of funds being transferred back to their account.
Fraud is a multi-billion dollar per year business and modern, tech savvy, fraudsters will do their best to create confusion and chaos during interaction.
If you have been a victim of fraud, the OPP can be reached anything, anywhere in the Province of Ontario at 1-888-310-1122.
