Bell is doing Bell Let’s Talk Day a little different this year.
The media giant announced they would be donating $10 Million towards Mental Health initiatives instead of donating for every text and tweet.
Although it’s about $3 Million more than what they would usually donate, Lori Hassall, VP of Services and Supports at CMHA Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services says the original point of the day was to get people to speak out.
She also says the monetary donation is greatly appreciated as the funding helps keep services going.
Hassall says that in 2022, they have seen over 700 more people use their services compared to 2021. She says the pandemic took a toll on a lot of people, but more people are now reaching out.
The CMHA can be reached 24/7 365 days a year.
You can call the Reach Out line at 519-433-0023 or visit www.CMHATV.ca to web chat with someone. Walk in services are also available 24/7 with no appointment necessary.
