A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at the Seaforth Community Hospital.
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance has closed the unit for the time being.
An outbreak is called when two or more patients or team members test positive for COVID-19.
The unit will not take any admissions and contact tracing is ongoing.
Family and Caregiver Presence on the Unit has been restricted.
The only exception is for palliative patients at end of life. Care teams will regularly update families/caregivers and make them aware of opportunities for virtual connections.
