The Huron Perth District Stroke Centre at the Stratford General Hospital has been accredited with the Distinction in Stoke Service.
The distinction recognized health organizations that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to leadership in stroke care and clinical excellence.
The local stroke program was one of nine in the Southwestern Ontario Stroke Network that applied for the award.
In 2021-22 the emergency departments in Huron and Perth provided care for 360 people diagnosed with a stroke, and 448 patients visited the Secondary Stroke Prevention Clinic.
