on February 25th, before 9pm, Perth County OPP set a RIDE Program up on Road 160 in West Perth.
When a vehicle pulled up to the checkpoint, it was obvious the driver had been drinking.
A 53-year-old from Mitchell was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and a high blood/alcohol content.
The drivers license was suspended for 90-days and the vehicle impounded for 7-days.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
