More details are due today after a London man was accused of killing one man and injuring two police officers during the course of a 15-hour standoff over the weekend. An unresponsive man was reported to police around 5 a.m. Saturday in a Kipps Lane apartment building, only to be pronounced dead a short time later.
Police officers negotiated throughout the day with a man who had barricaded himself inside the building and who they believed had a firearm. Investigators say two officers were injured at the scene and were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and around 8:30 pm the man inside the building was arrested.
Police say a firearm was found at the scene and have charged 42-year-old Adrian Neil Campbell with second-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Joel A. Cameron of London. The investigation is continuing.
