This year’s municipal budget has been approved by the council in Perth East.
Total expenditures for the municipality will be $18 million dollars including capital expenditure of $6.6 million.
Capital projects to be undertaken this year include
Pacific Avenue (Milverton) Road and infrastructure reconstruction. Re-paving of Line 37 from the Intersection of Line 37 and Road 109 to just east of Perth Road 107. Roof Repairs at PERC Arena and Banquet Hall.

To pay for everything, the Township levy increased by 7.56% or 6.11% after recognizing assessment growth. The Township residential tax rate increase is 6.07%.

Mayor Rhonda Ehgoetz stated “Perth East residents and businesses continue to face financial pressures and the rise in costs. Staff did a great job keeping that in mind while facing the same issues when putting together the budget.”
