North Perth has made identifying the enhancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in community decision-making, a priority.
Terms of reference for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee which is being formed, have been approved by the council.
The Municipality is seeking members of the community interested in sharing their voices to volunteer on the new DEI Advisory Committee.
Members from the community should represent under-served and equity-seeking groups, such as:
– Indigenous peoples
– 2SLGBTQ+
– Newcomers and new Canadians
– Persons living in poverty
– Persons with disabilities
– Racialized people
– People of Diverse Ethnic or Cultural Origin
– People over 55
– Women
– Youth
– Community Members working in allyship
Interested individuals must complete the application form by Monday, April 3, 2023, at 12:00 pm. Documents including the volunteer application form can be found at: https://www.northperth.ca/DEI-Advisory-Committee-Application/
The committee’s mandate is to ensure North Perth adheres to its commitment to be a welcoming and inclusive rural community as established in North Perth’s Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism Charter.
