Municipalities and not-for-profits in Huron County can benefit from individual project funding through the county’s Supporting Local Economic Development program.
Vicki Lass, Director of Huron County Economic Development, says the SLED fund began in 2016.
“It was established to help fund some of the economic development work that our partner municipalities and not-for-profit organizations do that benefit our local communities,” said

Eligible projects must focus on one of the priorities from the three-year-long THRIVE Economic Development Strategic Plan.
These included workforce retention, advancing community and tourism development as well as projects focused on youth and newcomers, that build a stronger sense of community.
The list of eligible organizations could include BIAs, Chambers of Commerce, arts organizations, sector organizations, and municipal partners.
Applications for funding through the County’s Supporting Local Economic Development Program
must be submitted by April 14th.
