Lambton County Libraries are adding to their arsenal. You can now borrow walking poles for a seven-day loan period through the Libraries Active Living Lifestyle Collection.
Each kit will have two walking poles, pole holders, pole tips, mud baskets, and an instruction card.
The Active Living Lifestyle Collection also had seasonal day-use permits for Ontario Parks, snowshoes, pedometers and GPS units that you can borrow.
“These new walking pole kits will give borrowers a chance to try them out and use them while walking on trails, beaches, or even just the sidewalk,” said Kevin Coates, Public Services Coordinator, Collections. “When used correctly, walking poles can engage more muscle groups than walking without poles, and provide other advantages like allowing for improved balance and protecting critical joints from impact.”
Library materials can be reserved using the online catalog at lclibrary.ca or by calling any library location during opening hours.
