The Ausauble Bayfield Conservation Authority has installed a Wind Phone on the trail at the Ausauble River Cut Conservation, west of Highway 21.
Nathan Schoelier, Stewardship and Lands Manager for Ausauble Conservation Authority says that when he was approached by the Lambton Shores Nature Trails group about the project, he was unfamiliar with it.
Although it’s unusual to spot a phone in the forest Schoelier says that it’s actually the perfect place to have it,
Schoelier says that he was surprised by the outpouring of public interest and support, which has been overwhelmingly positive,
He also hopes that this project helps reach a new demographic that haven’t had a chance to experience a conservation area up until this point.
More information is available from mywindphone.com – which offers a map of wind phone locations around the world.
