The accused in a shooting in Hullett Conservation Area north of Clinton has secured a retrial, to be held in St. Thomas.
78-year-old Boris Panovski was convicted by a Goderich jury in 2018 of having shot and killed Caledon man Don Frigo, and wounding his wife Eva Willer Frigo while they were riding on horseback in the conservation area on September 13th, 2014.
Panovski had previously been respected in the dog breeding community, however, following a falling out with Frigo, his career was forfeit.
Although a large amount of circumstantial evidence was presented at the trial, tracking his whereabouts the day of the shooting, Panovski’s case has been sent back for retrial due to an unbalanced jury.
The trial will be scheduled on May 29th, in St. Thomas.
