You’re not alone if you think there are more mosquitos this year.
David Dutkiewicz of the Invasive Species Centre in Sault St. Marie says it likely has to do with the cooler temperatures we saw earlier this month, because they’re not the biggest fans of heat.
One piece of information worth arming yourself with is that they don’t like wind, according Dutkiewicz,
And he says, reduce standing water to curb the breeding process.
Same goes for bird baths and other water features in your yard.
As for protection, it’s the obvious but bears repeating, get a good repellant with deet.
